Kaara trailer: Dhanush returns as a reformed dacoit in Vignesh Raja’s crime drama
The trailer of Dhanush starrer Kaara gives an intriguing glimpse of the story set against the backdrop of the 1991 Gulf War. Directed by Vignesh Raja, the film will be released in theaters on April 30.

Directed by Vignesh Raja, who makes his debut Por Thozil (2022), the film is scheduled to release in theaters on April 30. Mamita Baiju also plays an important role in this.
The trailer begins with a Doordarshan announcement referring to the 1991 Gulf War, linking it to the burning oil wells in Iraq and the resulting fuel crisis in Tamil Nadu. It forms the backdrop of the narrative, which follows a series of bank robberies led by Karasami, also known as Kara, played by Dhanush.
At the center of the investigation is Bharathan, a determined police officer, played by Suraj Venjaramoodu. The film presents Cara as a former outlaw who is attempting to reform, but due to circumstances he gets involved in crime again. As the story progresses, he faces resistance and criticism from the people around him, adding layers to his struggle.

The screenplay, written by Alfred Prakash and Vignesh Raja, explores themes of survival and moral conflict. The film also stars Jayaram, KS Ravikumar, Karunas, Sreeja Ravi, Prithvi Pandiarajan and MS Bhaskar in lead roles.
The music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar, marking yet another collaboration with Dhanush Idli Kadhai (2025). Dhanush has also contributed as a lyricist with Yuga Bharathi, Uma Devi, Arunraja Kamaraj, Karthik Neta and Arivu.
The technical team includes Theni Eshwar as the director of photography, Srijit Sarang as the editor, Mayapandi handling the production design and Dinesh Kasi overseeing the action sequences.
