Reliance recently launched a new asset tracker, JioTag Air, in India. The device is now available for purchase on Amazon at a competitive price of Rs 1,499. The launch positions JioTag Air as a more affordable alternative to Apple’s AirTag, which is currently priced at Rs 2,889.

The JioTag Air is a compact device that the company claims can help users locate and keep track of their valuables, such as keys, ID cards, wallets, purses, luggage, and even pets. By attaching the JioTag Air to these items, users will be able to monitor their location and avoid losing them.

A key feature of the JioTag Air is that it is compatible with two major platforms: Apple Find My Network and the JioThings app. However, users will have to choose one app at a time to use its tracking capabilities. For Apple users, the JioTag Air works with the Apple Find My app available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. For those who don’t want to use the Apple ecosystem, the JioThings app is available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store to track and manage the JioTag Air.

A key feature of the JioTag Air is the ability to share tagged items with other Apple users via the Apple Find My app. The device also emits a loud sound of up to 90-120dB, which helps users quickly locate tagged items nearby. To ensure that users do not leave their valuables behind, the JioTag Air provides disconnection alerts when the tagged item is out of range. Additionally, the Apple Find My network can help locate distant items using millions of Apple devices worldwide. Users can also enable Lost Mode to receive automatic notifications when a lost item is detected within the network.

The JioTag Air comes with an extra battery and a lanyard cable in the box. The company claims that it can be used for up to two years without replacement. It is available in three new colours: Grey, Blue and Red.
