Jigra, one of the most awaited films of 2024, is scheduled to release in theaters on October 11. The trailer of the film starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina has already been released and has received much appreciation from the film industry. Now, Sujoy Ghosh, director of the upcoming film King, has praised Alia after watching the trailer of her film and said that he likes to live in her time.
On October 2, 2024, Sujoy Ghosh said on his X (formerly Twitter) account, “Did you see the trailer of Jigra? It feels great to be present in Alia Bhatt’s time.”

Fans were impressed by the acclaimed filmmaker’s praise for Alia and even wished for their collaboration. One person said, “The way everyone is in awe of her,” while another wrote, “When is Sujoy Ghosh’s film starring Alia Bhatt? This is not a wish but a necessity.” One user said, “Thank you very much sir and yes we are grateful to be present with Alia Bhatt.”
Jigra is Alia Bhatt’s first collaboration with director Vasan Bala. It is also the second film produced by Karan Johar in collaboration with Dharma Productions under his banner Eternal Sunshine Productions. The film promises to be an action-packed thriller with a brother-sister relationship at its centre. Archies actor Vedang Raina plays Alia’s brother, while Manoj Pahwa will also be seen in an important role.
Earlier, Alia’s mother-in-law Neetu Kapoor had also expressed her love for the trailer of Jigra, calling it “hair-raising and impressive.” Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Ananya Panday and others also expressed their appreciation for the trailer on social media.
Meanwhile, Sujoy Ghosh is preparing to start shooting for the film King, which will be directed by Shahrukh Khan. In this action film, the superstar will share the screen with his daughter Suhana Khan for the first time. Earlier, Pinkvilla had exclusively reported that the makers are planning to take the film on floors in January 2025. The makers are currently targeting an Eid 2026 release.
