Director Anand L Rai, who has worked with Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Zero’, has called Shah Rukh a ‘great warrior’ who knows how to overcome failure. ‘Zero’, released in 2018, was a huge flop at the box office and Shah Rukh stayed away from films for several years, but returned with three back-to-back releases in 2023. Rai also revealed that the box office performance never affected their relationship.

In an interview News18Rai was asked if her relationship with Shah Rukh was affected due to the box office performance of the 2018 film.

“No. Never with an actor, star or a big man like Shah Rukh Khan. He doesn’t just think about films, he is much more than that. Making Zero with Shah Rukh were the best years of my life because it’s not just about filmmaking, it’s about understanding life,” said Aanand L Rai.

He also added, “The man taught us about life in those many years. If you ask me what I learnt from him, I learnt to be a fighter from him. He is a great warrior, a magician. He knows how to bounce back, make a way for himself. The equation has not changed. A person like Shah Rukh Khan will never change the equation based on hits and flops.”
