Is Dragon similar to Don? Director Ashwath Marimuthu rejects comparisons
After the release of Pradeep Ranganathan’s dragon, fans compared the film to Dawn of Shivkarthikeyan. Dragon director Ashwath Marimuthu recently addressed comparisons in an interview.
Director-actor-actor Pradeep Ranganathan and director Ashwath Marimuthu’s Dragon is one of the most anticipated films of 2025. Recently, the trailer of the film was released, which compared Shivakarthikayan’s don. Both films deal with a careless boy in college, who achieve success in life. However, director Ashwath Marimuthu has rejected comparisons and assured that Dragon Don 2 is not.
Talk to InddiglitzDirector Ashwath Marimuthu said, “It has been two years since Dawn is released. Why will anyone remake the film? Why will you come together to make a successful film Don 2 called Love?”
He further said, “Since our film has a college background, vibrant view and many students, it can look similar to Don. However, my story is different. Don is about a student who succeeds in life. , But the dragon is not like this.
Ashwath finished his speech and said, “Like oh my bitter was unique, Dragon would also be unique. My next film with Simbu is also a different and original theme.”

Dragon built by AGS Entertainment, is built on a large scale of Rs 37 crore on the budget. The film stars Pradeep Ranganathan, Anupama Parmeswaran and Kayedu Lohar in the lead roles. Messkin, KS Ravikumar, Gautham Menon, VJ Sidhu and Harsha Khan are part of supportive artists.
The film, composed by Leon James, will be released in theaters on 21 February. Dragon Dhanush’s third direction enterprise, Nilavuku Anmel will hit theaters with Ennadi Cobam.
