iQOO 15R launching in India soon, here’s everything we know about it so far
iQOO has officially teased the iQOO 15R for India, hinting at a brand new smartphone in the 15 series with a refreshed design and near-flagship specifications.

iQOO is preparing to expand its premium smartphone line-up in India with the all-new iQOO 15R. The company has officially teased the device and confirmed that it will soon join the iQOO 15 series in the country. The announcement comes straight from iQOO India CEO Nipun Marya, who revealed the India launch on the X by sharing a first look at the device.
The teaser image shows a phone with a checkered rear panel design, paired with a dual camera module sitting on a cuboid-shaped camera island. This refreshed design looks different from the existing iQOO line-up available in India.
Interestingly, the design language is quite similar to the iQOO Z11 Turbo that was recently launched in China, leading to speculation whether the upcoming iQOO 15R could be a rebranded or heavily customized version of that model for the Indian market. If this indeed proves to be true, the iQOO 15R could bring a strong mix of performance-focused hardware and a new aesthetic appeal. Here’s what we can expect.
iQOO 15R expected specifications
Based on leaks and certification listings, the iQOO 15R is expected to feature a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. With such a high refresh rate, this device may appeal to gamers who are looking for a mid-range premium smartphone with high refresh and fluid animations, without exceeding the flagship budget.
In terms of performance, the smartphone could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. If this is true, then the iQOO 15R will be closer to the flagship zone, offering top-tier performance for demanding tasks, gaming, and multitasking. This chipset option will put the iQOO 15R in direct competition with other premium mid-range phones including the OnePlus 15R.
Camera hardware is another area where the iQOO 15R may stand out. Reports suggest a 200-megapixel primary rear sensor, supported by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, while the front may feature a 32-megapixel selfie shooter. That said, there is also speculation that iQOO may instead opt for a 50-megapixel main camera, which would be much closer to the flagship iQOO 15 in real-world performance.
Battery life can be one of the biggest features of a phone. The device is rumored to pack a massive 7,600mAh battery with 100W fast charging support. Additional expected features include an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor as well as IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
iQOO 15 expected launch date
The India launch of the iQOO 15R is expected to take place in February, with availability via Amazon and the official iQOO India online store. Although the brand has not yet announced the exact launch date, the steady stream of teasers and listings suggests that an official announcement is imminent.
Pricing will be the key factor for the new mid-ranger. With almost flagship specifications on paper, the device could enter the premium mid-range segment or step into direct competition with entry-level flagship smartphones.
