Iranian-born actress Mandana Karimi has been vocal about the ongoing tension in the Middle East. He has recently confessed about his decision to leave India and go to Iran as soon as the government changed. The actress also admitted that she felt betrayed by India after the protests against the Iranian government.

Mandana, in an interview with Bollywood HungamaSaid, “What I see for Iran is a free Iran where women can do whatever they want, wear whatever they want, go to whatever university they want and study. I see an Iran that has a very good relationship with the Middle East, and we are not a threat to the people. But we are a nation that builds the Middle East. The moment they announce that this regime is gone, I will be gone.”

“Anyway, my bags are packed, and I am leaving India too. That’s the plan because I feel like I’m breaking ties with India. It’s very difficult for me because I came to India when I was very young. India has given me everything: my modeling career, my acting career, the love I’ve got and the friends I have. But I feel like I don’t have a voice in India.”

The actress also revealed that she lost many of her friends in Mumbai after speaking out against the Iranian regime. Mandana further added, “In the last two months, I have never felt so homesick and lonely in Bombay. I have a lot of friends here, but unfortunately, I went to protests, and I was talking so openly about Iran that I lost a lot of ‘so-called’ friends. I feel like India has betrayed me in a way. India has given me what it should have given, and now it’s time to move on, and hopefully I get to go to Iran.” I am the one.”

He previously addressed the US–Iran conflict, calling Iran’s current regime “a cancer cell in the Middle East”. The actor highlighted the continuing nature of the struggle for change and how unrest has become a defining aspect of life for many Iranians inside and outside the country.

For those unaware, conflict broke out in the Middle East following the United States and Israel’s attacks on Iran, while Tehran and its proxies, Hezbollah and the Houthis, retaliated on Saturday (February 28) by firing missiles towards Tel Aviv and US bases in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain.

Mandana’s statement comes at a time when Indian celebrities including Ajit Kumar, Vishnu Manchu, Sonal Chauhan and Esha Gupta are also stuck in UAE.
