Actor Ibrahim Ali Khan recently opened one of the most rigorous nights of his life. He recalled the shooting of his first film ‘Nadaniyan’, when his father-actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed during an attempt to steal in his Mumbai house.

Speaking in an interview GQ IndiaIbrahim shared how the incident influenced him deeply and changed his bond forever with his father.

Ibrahim said, “I was shooting for one night shift. He was stabbed at around 2:30, and I was informed at 5:30 am.”

He said, “I did not sleep that night, and I ran to see him. He came out of the ICU only after surgery,” he said.

After this there was a moment when Ibrahim says that he left him in tears. Ibrahim said, “She opened her eyes, talked to Sara a little, and asked me. I was very happy; I said, ‘I am here, Dad.’ And then he said, “If you were there, you had to cry.”

Saif Ali Khan allegedly drove himself to the hospital despite being seriously injured with a knife inside his body. Setting the record straight, as many claimed that Ibrahim took his father to the hospital; He said, “Everyone said that I took him to the hospital with my child’s brother, I would like to clarify that my father himself went to the hospital. He got stuck inside him with a knife and said, ‘I need help’,” Ibrahim clarified.

In the attack, which took place in January, Saif suffered several injuries, including his spine and near the neck, and many surgery. He was discharged after five days, and the security around his residence has become quite tough ever. The actor also listed the services of Ronit Roy’s Acesquad security LLP for ongoing protection.

The painful experience has influenced Ibrahim deeply, which says it brought him closer to his father. He said, “I feel very close to him now. If someone in your immediate family has experience of death, you do not take them. You get more present in the relationship,” he said.

Despite the family crisis, Ibrahim’s professional life has been in the headlines. His first film, ‘Nadaniyan’, was released on Netflix in March under the production banner of Karan Johar. It received mixed response from the audience.

‘Nadaniyan’ featured a contingent of artists including Sunil Shetty, Mahima Chaudhary, Dia Mirza and Jugal Hansraj. Ibrahim is now ready for his next project, ‘Sarzmin’, directed by Irani and directed by Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
