Introduction
Huawei recently unveiled the global Pura 90s series of phones. These are meant for international markets, and it doesn’t take much investigation to find out that the Pura 90s Pro Max we see today is simply using the same hardware as China’s Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max.
Huawei doesn’t even really hide it. Quite the contrary, they publicly admit that the “s” in HUAWEI Pura 90s series represents a special edition designed for markets outside the Chinese mainland.

And while we were able to see some differences here and there from the spec sheet alone, based on the best we could gather, the biggest divergence point between the two is likely to be in the software.
The hardware highlight of the Pura 90s Pro Max, as defined by Huawei itself, is the 200MP ultra large sensor telephoto camera, complete with True-to-Color Camera 2.0. There’s talk online about the Pura 90 Ultra, but we can’t really be sure if it’s coming or not, let alone if it’s going international. So, for now, the Pura 90s we have represent the flagship offering in the Pro Max lineup.
Technically, we didn’t have our own unboxing experience as we were handed a unit at the global launch event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia today.
However, we’re told you’ll get a 100W charger, a cable, and a clear plastic case for the handset in the box.
