In the first three months of 2025, the five largest technical companies – Google (alphabet), Amazon, Apple, Microsoft and Meta – made huge profits. Even with challenges such as high cost and economic recession, each of these companies reported more revenue and income than the same time last year. One of the major reasons for this growth is how much they are investing in Artificial Intelligence (AI), with cloud services, digital advertisements and online services paid. Many of them also returned the money to shareholders through dividends or stock buybacks. There is a look here how much money each earned and what helped in running their success.
Microsoft earned $ 70.1 billion (about Rs 592,625.4 crore) in revenue, which is 15 percent higher than the previous year. Its advantage, or net income, increased to $ 25.8 billion – up to 19 percent. A large part of this growth came from Microsoft Azure, its cloud service, which saw a jump of 35 percent. The company also benefited from its work with its AI Tools like Copilot and OpenaiI. Microsoft gave $ 9.7 billion to shareholders as dividends and share buybacks.
Google’s original company, alphabet, increased the revenue by $ 90.2 billion (about Rs 762,750.8 crore), increased by 12 percent. Its profit increased by 46 percent, reaching $ 34.5 billion. The Google Cloud increased by 28 percent, brought to $ 12.3 billion, while the YouTube advertisement brought in $ 8.9 billion, which is 10 percent more than the previous year. Google increased its dividend by 5 percent and rolled out its new AI model, Gemini 2.5 Pro, which is expected to help many of its products in power.
Apple posted $ 95.4 billion (about Rs 805,853.8 crore), which was 5 percent year-on-year. The company’s net income also increased by 5 percent to $ 24.8 billion. The largest contributor was Apple’s service business, including iCloud and app store. That part was brought alone to $ 26.6 billion, increased by 12 percent. Although the sales of the hardware, like iPhones, remained stable, the services created a real difference. Apple also announced a large -scale stock buyback plan of $ 100 billion.
Amazon had the highest revenue among all five, which posted $ 155.7 billion (about Rs 1,315,257.9 crore) in revenue, which was growing by 9 percent at the same time as last year. Its profit increased by 64 percent to $ 17.1 billion. Most of the benefits came from their cloud platform, Amazon Web Services (AWS), which were brought in $ 29.3 billion. The advertisement was another strong area, which was $ 13.9 billion. However, due to more spending on the new infrastructure, Amazon’s free cash flow declined to $ 25.9 billion.
The company behind Facebook and Instagram earned $ 42.3 billion (about Rs 357,308.1 crore) in revenue, 16 percent. Its profit increased by 35 percent to $ 16.6 billion. Advertisement is the main source of meta income, and rising advertising prices helped promote results. The company’s AI assistant, now used by about 1 billion people now, is another major focus. However, Meta may face challenges in Europe, which affects the membership of its advertising payments due to the new rules.
