Teachers’ Day is celebrated every year on September 5 to honour the contribution of teachers in our lives. The day also marks the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. Over the years, Bollywood has portrayed many memorable teacher characters, some of which have become iconic. These characters often remind us of real-life teachers, don’t they?

Let us give you some examples. If you have seen a female teacher walking around the school building in beautiful organza saris, you might have remembered Sushmita Sen’s character Miss Chandni. Rishi Kapoor’s character Santosh Duggal is one of the most iconic teachers in Bollywood. From reaching school on a scooter and taking coaching classes to earn extra money to being bribed by a student and struggling to buy a car, Duggal sahab was one of the most relatable teachers in Bollywood history.
