Actor broke his silence

Motwane’s Instagram post on Thursday read, “Chardi Kaala Always.” The Punjabi phrase refers to maintaining unwavering optimism, resilience and positivity in the face of adversity.

Although neither Motwane nor Khaturia have commented directly on the divorce, their message is widely seen as an assertion of strength and an effort to move on.

Legal proceedings and mutual consent

According to court documents, Motwani had approached the Bandra Family Court seeking a mutual separation. In doing so, she reportedly decided to give up any claims to stridhan or alimony.

During the proceedings, the actor was represented by lawyer Adnan Shaikh. He added that, “After their marriage, the couple lived together for a short time. However, they gradually realized that there were significant differences in their temperaments, opinions and lifestyles, which often led to disagreements.”

According to the petition, the couple often argued even over small matters, which made it difficult for them to live together under the same roof. As a result, they eventually decided to separate.

Family efforts and final settlement

Further details from the petition revealed that the couple’s parents, relatives and friends made several efforts to reconcile them and encouraged them to live together. However, his efforts to save the marriage were unsuccessful. Ultimately, the petitioners agreed to a mutual consent separation and dissolution of their marriage. Both are living separately since July 2, 2024.

Despite what has been described as a bitter turn in their relationship, both Motwani and Khaturia later discussed and decided to proceed with a mutual divorce.

The two got married in a traditional Hindu ceremony in Jaipur on December 4, 2022. The couple has no children.

On the professional front, Motwane started his career as a child artiste and later found success in the South Indian film industry.
