Extremely disturbing: Hansal Mehta addresses criticism of ‘The Buckinghams…’ Hindi dub
Hansal Mehta addressed the criticism over the Hindi dubbed version of his film The Buckingham Murders starring Kareena Kapoor Khan. The filmmaker replied to an X user regarding this and clarified the situation.

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta responded to an X user who expressed his disappointment over the Hindi-dubbed version of The Buckingham Murders. To reach a wider audience, the film was released in theaters in two versions: one in Hindi and English and the other completely dubbed in Hindi. The film starring Kareena Kapoor Khan is currently streaming on Netflix.
The social media user addressed Hansal Mehta and Netflix on his ex-post and wrote, “Disappointed with the Hindi dubbing of #TheBuckinghamMurders. @NetflixIndia, @netflix please release the original version! Authenticity matters. Painful to see foreign actors speaking Hindi.” #KareenaKapoorKhan @Mehtahansal What were you thinking? Waiting for the Hinglish version.”
To this Mehta replied, “Do you think we did this? We have nothing to do with all this. This is a technical glitch caused by @netflix. This is very disturbing. He assured us That they are working on solving it.” “Until later tonight (sic).”

Another user asked the filmmaker when the film should be seen (possibly with the revised Hindi dubbed version). He responded, “Please watch the Hindi (original) version now. It was not available earlier due to a technical glitch.”

In the original version of the film, A mixture of Hindi and English was usedMehta selected actors from the same region to preserve the authentic accent. To make it more accessible, an additional full Hindi version of the film was also released.
To ensure that a wide audience enjoys the mystery thriller on the big screen, the filmmakers decided on a 50-50 strategy. While the Hindi and English versions were shown on 50 percent of the screens, the Hindi version was shown on the other 50 percent of the screens.
