Thalapathy Vijay and director Venkat Prabhu’s The Greatest of All Time aka GOAT is doing steady business at the box office in India and overseas. The film is inching towards the Rs 200 crore mark at the domestic box office. However, the film recorded its lowest collection ever on September 12. Early trade reports suggest that the film will pick up pace in its second weekend in theatres.

GOAT entered the Rs 300 crore club within a week and has remained steady on weekdays as well. The film released in theatres on September 5 amid huge anticipation.

As of Thursday, September 12, GOAT has grossed Rs 6.50 crore in India. This is the lowest collection of the spy thriller since its grand release in theatres. Despite mixed reviews, the film is doing exceptionally well in theatres.

The total eight-day collection of GOAT in India now stands at Rs 177.75 crore. On September 12, the Tamil version of the film recorded a total occupancy of 24.15 per cent.

Directed by Venkat Prabhu, GOAT is a spy thriller starring Vijay in a double role. Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Ajmal Ameer, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila and Meenakshi Chowdhary play pivotal roles. Actors Trisha and Sivakarthikeyan have made cameo appearances in the film.

Produced by AGS Entertainment, GOAT has been made on a whopping budget of around Rs 380 crore. Music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematographer Siddharth Nuni and editor Venkat Rajan are part of the technical crew.
