talking to zoomDivya narrated how her instincts took over when she saw the man trying to misbehave with her sister. “He was about to pinch my sister’s back, and I caught him. Now where did that confidence come from? Because I was crazy. It came from my mother. I just grabbed him and knocked him out of his wits. Everyone turned back and then everyone came to help. The guy just ran away. It’s killing confidence to stand up for the person you love,” she said.
The 48-year-old actor also shared another incident from his school days when he was repeatedly followed and harassed. Instead of letting it lapse, her mother took immediate action.
Divya recalled, “When I told my mother, she took immediate action. The next day, she waited with a group of people in the same street and directly confronted them. That incident taught me a lot about standing up and not letting fear take over.”
