Singer Diljit Dosanjh has shared a BTS video ahead of his debut on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show. In the video, the singer is seen expressing his pride at being a part of the popular American show.
Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh has found success again after appearing on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show. On June 20, the singer shared a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram, in which he is seen expressing his pride at being the first Punjabi artist to appear on the show and perform live in front of an audience.
Diljit Dosanjh performed his famous tracks ‘GOAT’ and ‘Born to Shine’ on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show. Several videos of the singer’s amazing performance were shared on Jimmy Fallon, Diljit and other social media pages.
On June 20, the singer-actor shared a BTS video in which he can be seen practising for his performance, expressing his happiness. At one point in the video, Diljit mentioned how he is happy to have broken the stereotype of being the first Punjabi to come on stage and perform in front of the show’s audience. Calling it a proud moment, he said, “Punjabi aa gaye oyeee (Punjabis have come).” He thanked divine blessings and later posed with the show’s logo in his performance attire.

Diljit added a twist to his performance on the show when he changed the lyrics of ‘GOAT’ and sang, “Hollywood Among those stars there is Sardar Goriye sitting“The original song referred to Bollywood and the Khans. After his performance, Diljit paused for a moment and ended with the line ‘I am Punjab‘ He has also sung the song ‘Ishq Mitaaye’ from his film ‘Chamkila.’
Diljit Dosanjh has put India on the global map with his exceptional performances at international music festivals. He created history by becoming the first Punjabi singer to perform at the prestigious music festival Coachella.
