Dhurandhar The Revenge Box Office: Ranveer Singh on track to sell 5 lakh tickets for national series on Thursday opening day

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is now running in theatres, with its paid previews registering a solid occupancy. The espionage action drama is witnessing strong sales on its opening day on Thursday. By 11 pm, the Ranveer Singh starrer sold around 4.70 lakh tickets across the top two national chains, PVRINOX and Cinepolis, for the opening day. At midnight, it will be just under Rs 5 lakh, and then there will be a few more hours for which sales will continue to increase, taking the final number to more than Rs 5 lakh.

Pathan holds the record for first day sales among these chains with Rs 5.45 lakh. It’s possible that the film may miss out on that record, but there’s really no comparison as Dhurandhar: The Revenge has sold so many tickets after clocking a demand of over 5 lakh tickets in the previews. An ideal and fair comparison with Pathan and Jawan is to take the previews + opening day sales just before the previews started, at that time the film had sold 8.75 lakh tickets, which would comfortably be a record.

Based on the current trends and bookings, the film is going to gross above Rs. Earned Rs 60 crore on opening day on Thursday. It remains to be seen whether the film alone can beat Jawan’s opening day on Thursday or not, but still, that would not be a fair comparison. The full advance report will be updated tomorrow morning.

The film is set for a titanic weekend at the box office. The opening day, including previews, will clear Rs. 100 crore nett. Then the period of Eid is starting from Saturday. Although the Eid excitement may not be as big as it is for Salman Khan’s mass entertainment, holidays always help. The extended four-day weekend is sure to cross Rs. 300 crore nett, probably around Rs. 325 crore nett. Including all the variants, it could be above Rs. 350 crore nett.
