Actress Deepika Padukone attended the Kalki 2898 AD event in Mumbai on Wednesday, June 19. Deepika looked stunning in a black dress, which clearly showed her baby bump. Deepika talked about her pregnancy as well as her role in the film.

When host and actor Rana Daggubati introduced Deepika on stage, he joked that she was still in character. “You have been forced to become a method actor,” Rana remarked. Deepika laughed and said, “I mean, obviously.”

Deepika Padukone plays the role of a pregnant woman named Sumati in this science-fiction film.

Rana then said, “I can see you are still in character.” Deepika replied laughingly, “I mean, the film ran for three years, so I thought why not extend it for a few more months?”

The actress then spoke about her experience shooting the film: “It was an incredible experience, a great learning experience. It was a completely new world and I think we went through different phases to figure out what the film was about. It was an incredible experience on both a personal and professional level.”

Apart from Deepika Padukone, Kalki 2898 AD also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Disha Patani in pivotal roles. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film will release in theatres on June 27.
