Anthropic has announced new weekly use sanctions for Cloud AI, which aims to prevent people from running its coding tools or sharing accounts with others. The latest boundaries will be introduced from August 28 and all paid plans will apply to users, including $ 20 Pro Tier and high -priced $ 100 and $ 200 maximum schemes.

In an email and a post on social media to users, Anthropic stated that some people were running the cloud code continuously in the background or violating their rules by sharing access or login details. The company is now planning to introduce two new weekly caps: one on total use, and the other is especially for Claude Ops 4 models, its most advanced version.

The company clarified that the current use boundaries (which refresh every five hours) will remain unchanged. However, users of maximum schemes will now have the option to buy additional access after hitting their weekly cap using standard API pricing.

These changes come at a time when the AI coding assistant, cloud code, is looking at the increased demand between developers. But this growing popularity has also brought some challenges. According to the anthropic system status page, the tool has faced several outages in the last month, possibly some users running around the clock.

“Cloud Code has experienced unprecedented demand since launch,” anthropic spokesman Amy Roderham told Techchunch in an email. He also said that “most users would have no difference,” and new boundaries are expected to affect users less than 5 percent.

According to the updated plans, customers of Pro Tier can expect 40 to 80 hours of cloud code using Sonnet 4 each week. On the $ 100 Max Plan, those people will get 140 to 280 hours of sonnet 4 and 15 to 35 hours of opus 4. Users on $ 200 Max Plan will be allowed 240 to 480 hours in a week Sonnet 4 and 24 to 40 hours Opus 4.

Anthropic did not reveal how to use actually is being tracked – whether it is from the number of tokens used, calculated time, or spent hours. While the company earlier claimed that the $ 200 plan provides 20 times higher access to Pro Tier, the latest number suggests that the growth can be close to six times in actual use hours.
