plot:
Chandu is a film based on the extraordinary life of champion Indian Paralympian Murlikant Petkar.
Murlikant Petkar had a childhood dream of winning a gold medal for India at the Olympic Games. Representing India at the Olympic Games and winning a gold medal was not considered practical at that time. Despite his father’s reluctance, he learns wrestling at the local arena. One thing leads to another and he finds himself in the Indian Army. He represents the Indian Army as a boxer and later represents India as a Paralympian swimmer.
Despite everything that Petkar has achieved in his life, his achievements remain hidden until he decides to file an FIR against the President of India for not giving him the Arjuna Award. To know why Petkar wants the Arjuna Award and whether he will get it from the President of India, you have to watch Chandu Champion.
What is Chandu Champion useful for:
Chandu Champion is a very neatly and passionately made film on the eventful life of Murlikant Petkar, which will surely entertain and inspire those who want to represent their country in any way possible. The pace of the film is really good and it does not feel dull at any point. There is a seamless blend of drama and comedy throughout the film. While this gives the film a light-hearted feel, it does not take away from its seriousness. The Chandu Champion title track and Sarfira instantly give goosebumps, and have been used brilliantly in the film. The song Satyanaash is choreographed brilliantly. The boxing scenes and the fight scenes have been managed brilliantly. Kartik Aaryan has done complete justice to his demanding role. Kabir Khan has got a great job out of all his actors and the result is a film that he can personally be very proud of.
What doesn’t work for Chandu Champion:
Chandu Champion doesn’t feel very new or fresh as a film because it has a familiar format. While watching Chandu Champion, it feels like you are watching something that has been seen many times before. Luckily Chandu Champion is made so beautifully and with so much heart that the focus is more on other positive aspects.

Ayan Khan Sroha has done his job well as the young Muralikant Petkar.
Vijay Raj’s performance as Petkar’s coach Tiger Ali is superb. He adds credibility and authority to the film.
Rajpal Yadav looks adorable as Pukhraj.
Bhuvan Arora is exceptional as Gnarnail Singh.
Shreyas Talpade and Brijendra Kala have helped keep things light-hearted with their natural comedy.
Other supporting actors in the film also make their presence felt well.
Chandu Champion’s Final Verdict:
Chandu Champion is a fine biopic that celebrates the eventful life of Padmashri Murlikant Petkar. But what makes it even worse is its familiarity.
