Avengers director Joe Ruso feels that commercial cinema was used to get a seat on the Oscar table in the 90s. However, the director claimed that things changed due to the infamous former manufacturer, Harvey Venstein.
Talking with The Sunday Times, Russo said, “She provoked mainstream films to make the art films pushed for Oscar campaigns champion. Popular films were winning the Oscars before the mid -90s, then Venstein started a fisheries campaign. It was impressed that they watched all the films.
“Like the argument that Marvel films were killing cinema. Well, Marvel films were keeping theaters open for a long time, ”Ruso continued.
Along with his filmmaker brother Anthony Russo, brothers -in -law have removed some of the most successful hits of all time under the Marvel banner, including Avengers Series and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. They have Avengers: Doomsde and Avengers: Secret Wars in the pipeline.
