Arshad Warsi’s Jolly LLB impressed fans with its humour, thrilling plot and impeccable performances of the actors. However, the film’s sequel featured Akshay Kumar as the protagonist. Recently, Arshad said that he did not like the script of the second installment and knew that Kumar would bring a bigger audience to the theatres. As a result, he had no objection to leaving it. He also revealed that Jolly LLB, in which he and Akshay are together, is fun and exciting, and hinted at a fight sequence between the actors.
In a candid chat with Mashable India, Arshad was asked if he felt wrong about not being a part of Jolly LLB 2. In his response, the actor mentioned that he did not like the script of the film. Nevertheless, he was willing to do so for the film’s director Subhash Kapoor, who is a good friend of the actor.
But, later the producers of Fox Studios were keen to cast the Housefull actor in the film, who were also interested in it. So he thought it would be a better decision and also sent a message to the director explaining how Akshay could bring more audiences to the theatres.
He said, “I was not happy with the script at all, but I would have done it because it was Subhash, and he is a director and a dear friend. I told him take Akshay and make the film; with me, you will do it with him. You will get a crowd of 500 people, you will get a crowd of 5000 people, and I had said that you will be able to fulfill your dream the way it should be done with Akshay, not with me.
Since both the actors have joined hands for Jolly LLB 3, the Munna Bhai MBBS actor was asked to share some details about it. He said that people would love to see them together on screen. Warsi said that he will carry forward his character from Jolly LLB and Kumar will carry forward his character from the second part, which will be a really fun film.
The actor praised the ‘Khel Khel Mein’ actor’s work ethic and shared that he took up filming for a special fight sequence. It was supposed to take more time, but he managed to shoot the 5-minute scene in one take.
Arshad said, “What we have done is madness, and we have done a fight sequence with both of us in one take, and of course, it will be cut, but it is one take. It is a long fight sequence, Give someone a day to finish what would have happened. We finished it in one go, I got hurt which should have happened.
Expressing his excitement for the film, the Dhamaal actor admitted that the story, ideas and humor of the film are relatable and the audience will enjoy it. He said that the film has every element that the Jolly LLB franchise promises to the audience.
The shooting of the film ended in July 2024. Meanwhile, Pinkvilla reported that the film will release in April 2025.
