Introduction
The top iPhone is back this year with an even bigger screen, more powerful hardware, a bigger battery, and faster charging. Meet the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max – the best iPhone ever produced by Apple and if you are looking for the maximum feature set then get this iPhone.
This year, the iPhone 16 Pros are enjoying their first screen expansion since the iPhone 12 series and it has worked really well for them. The smaller Pro now makes even more sense, while the larger Pro Max with a 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen is a multimedia consumption monster. And the best part is that the screen increase came mainly from trimming the bezels – the 16 Pro Max is just 1mm wider than the 15 Pro Max.
Of course there is a new Apple chip, which the manufacturer advertises as the next big thing. The A18 Pro has a faster six-core processor and a more powerful Apple GPU, with expanded and improved hardware support for raytracing and other features. Memory bandwidth has been increased for the faster AI tasks that Apple Intelligence will require.
Cameras have always been a strong selling point for iPhones and the triple-camera setup on the 16 Pro Max gets even better. While the 48MP primary and 12MP 5x telephoto remain mostly the same (Fusion camera and next-gen sensor shift stabilization aside), there’s a new 48MP ultrawide-camera for even more impressive panoramic photos. Now the Pro model supports video capturing up to 4K120fps, spatial clips, has a studio-quality microphone, audio mixing options for video, and more.
Let’s not forget the new camera control key, which can do a lot of things and is Apple’s attempt to reimagine how iPhone users control their cameras.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max features second-generation MagSafe charging, allowing up to 25W wireless charging (or 15W with a Qi2 charger).
iPhone 16 Pro Max supports the richest connectivity suite, including USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 with DePort, Ultra Wideband, Wi-Fi 7, satellite connectivity, and more.
Finally, iOS 18 will soon introduce Apple Intelligence, marking the beginning of the AI era for the company – at least in countries outside the EU and China.

Unboxing the iPhone 16 Pro Max
Quite expectedly, the thin iPhone box that the iPhone 16 Pro Max comes in contains only the phone and a braided USB-C cable.
The SIM ejection tool is here to stay for another year. No Apple sticker if anyone cares.
