“Homeopathy has played an important role in my life and Dr. Rajan Shankaran has been an important part of that journey. I deeply value his insights on health and conscious living,” Anushka wrote along with the clip.
His post drew mixed reactions online, and users were divided over his support of homeopathy.
Here is the post:
Many social media users criticized the actor, arguing that celebrities with large numbers of followers should be cautious when discussing medical treatments. Some questioned the scientific basis of homeopathy and expressed concern that such endorsements could influence people seeking health care advice.
One user wrote that promoting homeopathy to millions of followers is irresponsible, while another said that public figures should avoid promoting treatments that remain a subject of debate within the medical community.
Critics question homeopathy support
Her post prompted a flood of reactions on X, with some users criticizing her for promoting it, calling it an unscientific practice, while others said treatment choices were personal and defended her idea.
A social media critic criticized the actor and said, “Virat Kohli’s wife, Anushka Sharma is recommending homeopathy to Indians. Fraudulent babas are not enough, she is now promoting unscientific fraud medicine for Indians. Give them enough money and they can one day tell people, ‘Just go to Premanand Maharaj to cure all your ailments.'”

Another user said they are “retiring as fans” of Anushka Sharma and wrote, “More than 60 million people follow you Anushka and you promote homeopathy on your story?? I have seen many people who refused proper medicine and died using these things in the name of faith and you are promoting it?? Is this what that fraudster baba is telling you?? Oh God! (sic).”
One user said, “What is the problem with Anushka Sharma all of a sudden? Who promotes homeopathy of all things? As if promoting fraudulent babas was not enough, now she is promoting fraudulent medicine.” A separate post read, “Anushka Sharma is now supporting quacks like homeopathy. This is a level worse than supporting fraudulent babas.”
Some users also said that his large number of followers made the post more worrying. One comment read, “Watched Anushka’s story, blood-curdling. Despite having such a huge following, she still promotes homeopathy on her page. Why don’t they go to a homeopathic/ayurvedic doctor for treatment, that’s why people come to such late stages of so many diseases when nothing can be done.”
Supporters defended Anushka’s stance
However, many users supported the actor. Responding to the criticism, one user wrote, “Homeopathy is an unscientific fraud? Brother, are you okay? Need mental asylum? Really, homeopathy sometimes cures such things which even allopathy cannot cure.”
Another said it’s a matter of personal choice, writing, “Just because she posted something doesn’t mean everyone has to go to this doctor or that baba. There is such a thing as free will.”
Others supported Anushka by sharing their experiences. One user wrote, “So??? Both my parents are allopathic doctors, but I am consulting homeopathy for a chronic skin problem after using modern medicine for over 2 years with no results. It’s only been 2.5 months and I’m already seeing the difference.”
Another supporter, who said he was a homeopathic doctor, posted a longer note. The user wrote, “I still remember how people trolled me on Twitter 3-4 years ago because I am a homeopathic doctor. One thing I always said then, and I say even today is that you can troll us as much as you want but in the end, many of you will come to us for treatment.”
Some supporters rejected the criticism outright. One user wrote, “Now people are dragging Anushka for believing in homeopathy??? Brother if you think it is foolish to believe in it then you are a fool, I also believe in homeopathy. It may take time to heal but it eradicates the disease from its roots,” and added that he was the “biggest supporter of homeopathy” in his family.
Some users also shared their positive experiences with homeopathy. One person said he turned to homeopathic treatment for a chronic health condition after having limited success with conventional medicine, while another said he has benefited from the practice and believes it deserves greater recognition.
The online debate continues
Since then the discussion has continued on social media platforms, with opinion divided between those who view homeopathy as a legitimate form of treatment and those who believe it lacks scientific evidence.
Anushka has not yet publicly responded to the criticism.
The actress recently visited Premanand Maharaj’s Vrindavan Ashram with her husband cricketer Virat Kohli after Royal Challengers Bangalore’s IPL 2026 title win.
