Emraan Hashmi praises Ranbir Kapoor’s performance in Animal
Emraan Hashmi made his debut in the acting world with Footpath in 2003. But it was his erotic thriller Murder in 2004 that brought him fame and acclaim. After being associated with the industry for two decades, he proved his talent again by playing the role of Aatish Rehman in Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger 3.
While he was busy with his other projects, the actor sat down for a podcast with Shubhankar Mishra. During the chat, he was all praise for Ranbir Kapoor and his film Animal. Sharing his opinion on the same, the Zeher actor admitted that he hasn’t watched any of Kapoor’s films from his ‘chocolate boy phase’.
However, Emraan said that when he watched Animal, he was stunned by the way Kapoor played the grey character with such passion and conviction. He revealed, “I have seen Animal and I think it is commendable that he played a character with grey shades with such conviction, who is not easy to like. It is commendable,” Hashmi said.

In the same interview, the actor opened up about being labelled as the serial kisser of B-Town and subsequently being typecast. He said that it happens to a lot of actors. Certain things become their patent thing and their image gets set which never leaves them.
Citing examples of B-Town megastars, Imran said Shah Rukh Khan may have had a great career but he is still popular for his open-arm pose. Salman Khan has audiences wanting him to take off his shirt and cinema lovers still rejoice at Anil Kapoor’s ‘jhakas’ dialogues.
After doing a cameo in ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ opposite Sara Ali Khan, Emraan Hashmi has become busy shooting for two upcoming South Indian films.
