Angelina Jolie’s daughter Shiloh has recently dropped her father’s surname, reportedly due to ‘traumatic events’. It was also said that she even took out an advertisement announcing her name change. However, Shiloh’s lawyer Peter Levin denied all reports of advertisements in newspapers about her name change.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Shiloh has applied to remove her father’s last name. The news comes after Shiloh filed a legal request to change her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie on her 18th birthday.

According to Shiloh’s lawyer Peter Levin, Pitt’s decision to drop her name was due to “traumatic events” in her life. Levin denied any reports of Shiloh placing a newspaper ad to announce the name change. He said, “Shiloh Jolie did not take out an ‘ad’ announcing a name change, and any press reporting about that is false.”

Levin said, “As Shiloh’s attorney, I am required to publish a legal notice because according to California law, anyone who wants to change their name is required to do so. That legal notice was published in the Los Angeles Times, as is required.”

The lawyer also said, “The media should be more careful in its reporting, especially when it is reporting about a young person who has made an independent and important decision after traumatic events and is merely following the legal process.”

Shiloh is not the only child of the star couple to have dropped her father’s name. As per TMZ’s report, her younger sister Vivienne was featured in the playbill of The Outsiders as Vivienne Jolie. Their other daughter Zahara referred to herself as ‘Zahara Marley Jolie’ when she joined her sorority at Spelman College.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce was high-profile and tumultuous. Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, resulting in a lengthy custody battle. The couple’s divorce was finalized in 2019, but the custody battle is still ongoing.
