Alpha Box Office Day 2: Alia Bhatt’s film reaches Rs 40 crore worldwide
Alia Bhatt’s Alpha is inching closer to the Rs 40 crore mark worldwide after registering a slight jump in collections on its first Saturday. The YRF Spy Universe film has now earned Rs 37.90 crore globally in two days.

Actor Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Alpha YRF’s Spy Universe saw a slight improvement at the box office on the second day after registering the lowest opening-day collection in the history. Despite mixed to negative reviews, the female-led espionage thriller saw a slight jump in collections on its first Saturday, taking its worldwide earnings close to Rs 40 crore.
According to trade website sacnilc, alfa It earned Rs 11.50 crore in 6,882 shows on the second day in India. With this, the total India net collection of the film now stands at Rs 20.75 crore, while its India gross stands at Rs 24.90 crore.

The film also did steady business overseas and collected Rs 7 crore on the second day. Its total overseas collection now stands at Rs 13 crore, taking the film’s worldwide gross collection to Rs 37.90 crore in two days.
Alpha It opened in India on Friday with earnings of Rs 9.25 crore, while it had an opening of Rs 16.10 crore worldwide. While the second day figures indicate some improvement, the overall performance of the film is below expectations for the YRF Spy Universe title, especially considering that it released in 7,534 screens across the country.

The film has also received mixed response from critics. In its review, India Today Evaluation Alpha with 2.5 stars, praising Alia Bhatt’s performance as Sita while pointing out the film’s inconsistent screenplay.
Part of the review reads, “That inequality becomes AlphaIs the biggest problem. There are many twists and turns in the film and the constant interruptions while getting things done eventually becomes tiring. Instead of creating intrigue, the script focuses more on creating shock value.”
Directed by Shiv Rawail and written by Uday Chopra, Alpha Released in theaters on 3 July. The seventh installment of the YRF spy universe also stars Sharvari, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Dia Mirza in lead roles.
