Actress Chetna Pandey says Haunted 3D changed her life after ‘worst six months’

Actress Chetna Pandey said that the success of Haunted 3D came after six months of illness and failures at home. The huge success of the film and the praise for her performance turned a period of rejection and pain into a defining moment.

Speaking to India Today haunted 3d The actor said, “My partner was unwell, my mother was unwell and then my pet was diagnosed with a health problem. It felt like one blow after another. I had almost forgotten what happiness felt like. I was in so much mental pain that I felt completely broken and at my lowest. So this moment feels even more special. I can’t believe that after going through so much, something so beautiful can happen.”

Pandey called haunted 3d A blessing and said that its success is proof that perseverance ultimately pays off. “I think we actors have to go through a lot, from endless waits to rejections. And then when you get a film that features such amazing figures, it feels like all my failures were completely worthwhile. Every failure in my life that has broken me has made me stronger and prepared me for today. Now I feel like everything has happened for the right reason.”

Chetna said, “It feels unbelievable. I’m still not able to process it. There was a time when it wasn’t even releasing, so from there to this journey, it feels very, very special.” He said that it was the strong belief of director Vikram Bhatt that took him this far.

Pandey said she met the 57-year-old filmmaker for the first time three years ago, when the film had not even gone on floors. During that meeting, he told them how difficult it was for newcomers to get lead roles. He said that aspiring actors often get calls only for supporting roles, or are not finalized even after being shortlisted.

“But they told me I was very talented and it was surprising that no one saw me that way,” he said. A year later, he saw her as Sunehri and things changed.

Pandey said that Bhatt later told him that she had brought Sunheri to life beautifully and that the audience would take notice of her performance. Her co-star Mimoh Chakraborty also praised her screen presence and said that the film felt like Sunehri’s story. After the release, he said that he was overwhelmed by the response of the audience, who strongly connected with his character.

Pandey said that one of the biggest challenges during shooting was the film’s dialogue-heavy Hindi. She also talked about the emotional stress of filming scenes in which her character was violated and abused, a scene she said stayed with her even after pack-up.

Chetna said, “When the character came close to me, I felt very revolted. I was trembling, and I understood the pain and anger that women go through when they are touched without their consent. I wanted to push her away and hit her. Thankfully, for that scene I had to hit her and I think I put my energy into that. After that, the whole night I kept thinking about the pain that women go through and it is the worst feeling ever.”

Working with Mimoh and meeting Mithun Chakraborty

Pandey said that working with co-star Mimoh Chakraborty was one of the best experiences of her career. She added, “He is such a simple and charming person that he instantly became one of my favorite co-actors.”

She also recalled meeting Mimoh’s father, actor Mithun Chakraborty, on the sets. The actor said, “His personality is intimidating, but he was very sweet to me. He even appreciated my work when he was on the set. And his relationship with Mimoh, who calls him by his name, was amazing and lovely to watch.”
