In an exclusive interview with India Today Digital, the actor said, “I was extremely nervous because I didn’t want to falter. It’s not just about acting in front of him; It’s like standing in front of a professor. Till now, I have managed to fool many people as an actor, but you can’t do that with him – he knows his lines inside out. I was always on guard, constantly careful not to make her feel like, ‘What kind of person is this in front of me?’ I was afraid that he might go to director Ribhu Dasgupta and ask, ‘Why did you cast this guy?'”

Banerjee also recalled shooting a scene with the iconic actor and how she was awestruck by his personality.

“With time, he fell in love with me and would always call my name. He even clapped for me after a shot, which was an incredibly special moment. I remember I finished a monologue and when I turned around he was clapping for me. This is a memory I will always cherish,” said Abhishek Banerjee.

“There was one particular scene between us that I will never forget – it was the first scene I was shooting with her. We did rehearsals and during preparation, he looked at me and said, ‘Abhi, I will see you now, okay.’ At first, I didn’t understand anything because, of course, one would look at one’s co-actor during the scene. But that line stuck with me and it haunted me until we actually shot that scene. As soon as the director said ‘action’ and he looked into my eyes, I went completely blank. It was no longer the character in front of me – it was HimAt that moment, memories of all his iconic films and great dialogues came flooding into my mind. It was overwhelming to say the least.”

After that scene, Abhishek shared that he has become more comfortable with the actor’s shooting antics. However, he will never forget the toughest part of the shoot where he had to concentrate and leave no room for mistakes.
