While the main ceremony is unaffected, other major events of GRAMMY week, including the MusiCares Person of the Year program and the Recording Academy’s Special Merit Awards, have not yet been confirmed.

The wildfires have caused disruption across the region, raising questions over the feasibility of hosting support events.

The Recording Academy has not yet commented on whether contingency plans are in place, but the decision to move forward with the Grammys signals optimism about recovery efforts and Los Angeles’ ability to host its flagship event.

Wildfires in Southern California have resulted in the loss of many lives and extensive damage to neighborhoods. Several celebrities have reportedly lost their homes due to the fire, including Cameron Mathison, Jhené Aiko, Miles Teller, Tina Knowles, Ricki Lake, Billy Crystal, Paris Hilton, Anna Faris, Melissa Rivers, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag.
