Shahrukh Khan is called the ‘King of Romance’ in Bollywood. But, his off-screen love story with his wife Gauri Khan during his 20s is equally amazing. The couple shares an amazing bond and often treats their fans with interesting anecdotes related to each other. For example, Shah Rukh Khan once shared that his wife Gauri mostly used to exchange the gifts given by him, and he also shared an incident regarding the same.
In a previous conversation with Farah Khan for a show, King Khan had mentioned that his wife always accepts his gifts, but 99.99% of the time, she goes to the store and exchanges them.
He shared that he once had a spinal injury and had to stay there for about two months to recover. Since the actor was going to stay a little longer than planned, he bought himself a new T-shirt.
Later Shahrukh realized that the T-shirt was bigger than his size and was useless. So, he planned to return it to the store for a cotton T-shirt in his size. But his wife, Gauri, told him that the store does not offer exchange facilities, and they cannot do so.
However, later, two of his friends come to meet him and reveal that Gauri had already replaced her T-shirt with a handbag, saying that he was in the hospital and did not need it. As a result, the whole matter took him by surprise.
She recalled, “They said they didn’t get anything for you, they said she was in the hospital, she didn’t need any clothes, so I bought her a handbag instead.” (She didn’t buy you anything; she said you were in the hospital and you wouldn’t need it, so she got a handbag.)
For those unaware, Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan met each other in Delhi and fell in love. The couple married on 25 October 1991 and have three children: Aryan, Suhana and Abram.
