The Cannes Film Festival from May 2025 to May 24, many films already have strong Palame D’Or Buzz. There are five competition titles to see here, with top directors like Wes Anderson, Julia Dukoranu and Lynn Ramsay.
Fonisian Plan by Wes Anderson
Wes Anderson returns to Cannes with the Funisian plan, continuing his streak to enter the festival competition lineup every two years. Steering-Theme adventure stars Benisio del Toro, Mia Thrilton, Michael Sera, Tom Hax, Brian Cruston, Ridge Ahmed, Scarlett Johanson and Benedict Cambarabach.
The film was shot in Germany and produced by Indian painbush and American empirical paintings in collaboration with Studio Babelsburg. Focus features will release it in North America on 30 May, with a wide rollout on 6 June. Universal Pictures handles the International Global Distribution.
Die, my love by lin Ramsay
Lin Ramsay Ki Dye, My Love, Cannes is one of the most discussed competition films in 2025. Customized to Ariana Harvikz’s novel, the story takes the original French setting to rural America, where a woman is overwhelmed by love and mental upheaval.
Artists include Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Pattinson, Lakeith Stanfield and Sisi Spacek. Lawrence also produces Martin Scorses and Andrea Calladerwood through its company, excellent cadver. The film is funded by Black Label Media.
Alpha by Julia Dukornaau
Julia Dukornou has returned to the Cannes competition after her 2021 Palme D’Or won for Titan. His new film Alpha is described as his most personally. It follows a 13 -year -old girl whose life changes after coming home with a tattoo.
The artists include Tahar Rahim, Golshifteh Farhani and newcomer Melissa Boros. North American rights have already been raised by Neon.
History of sound by oliver Harmanas
Oliver Harmanas, Josh O’Coner and Paul Mascles bring the history of sound for the first world warfare between the two American men played by Mascles. It returns to Harmanas on the festival after winning Quir Palm in 2011.
The film is supported by Film 4 and is produced by End Q and Fat City, as well as with Theresa Ryan-Gran, Zhang Shin and Harmanas. Mubi is the owner of North American rights, while Focus features and Universal Pictures will distribute the International World level.
Sir by oliver lax
Spanish filmmaker Oliver Lex started his ear competition with Sirat after winning the award in other sections of the festival in the past years. The film follows a father and son as he searches his missing daughter and sister in a mumbled by Morocco.
Sirat is produced by Movistar Plus+, El DESEO (Pedro and Agustin run by Almodóv), DA Ermida, Uri Films and 4A4 Productions of France. BTEAM Pictures will release the film in Spain.
