Om Shanti Om starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone is one of the most loved Bollywood movies of all time. Today, on November 9, 2024, the film completes 17 years of release. On this special occasion, let us remember the moment when director Farah Khan told Shahrukh during the shooting of the song Dard-e-Disco, ‘Now you are Shakira, take off your clothes.’
In an old interview with The Telegraph before the release of Om Shanti Om, Farah Khan had talked about shooting the dance number Dard-e-Disco with Shah Rukh Khan. According to the portal, the song was to be performed by global pop icon Shakira. During the conversation, Farah said, “This is the last song I am doing.” So I said to Shahrukh, sorry darling, now you are Shakira. Take off your clothes.”
King Khan showed his six-pack abs in the song Dard-e-Disco. Farah also told during the conversation that they will count her abs every week. “He had become like those self-obsessed heroines,” she said. Farah said that she understood because when she lost 16-16 kg, she too could not stop staring at herself.
On the 17th anniversary of Om Shanti Om, the official Instagram handle of production house Red Chillies Entertainment made a special post. A video compiling popular scenes from the film was shared. It said, “A story of love, heartbreak, loss and redemption.”
The caption of the post reads, “A film so iconic that we will never be able to get over its strangeness! #17YearsOmShantiOm.” have a look!
Fans flooded the comments section of the post with their love for the film.
