XtraEmily Twitch unbanned: XtraEmily banned from Twitch just one day after distracted driving suspension

Twitch streamer XtraEmily has been removed from the platform just a day after receiving a suspension over a distracted driving incident during one of her livestreams. The streamer’s channel is once again available after being temporarily removed by Twitch for violating community guidelines. The suspension came after a clip of his June 28 IRL stream went viral on social media, showing him looking away from the road while driving. Although no one was hurt and no accidents occurred, the incident immediately drew criticism online and led Twitch to take action against his account.

XtraEmily returns to Twitch after one-day suspension due to distracted driving

ExtraEmily’s Twitch suspension lasted about 24 hours before the platform reinstated her account. Visitors can now access her channel again, as it was briefly replaced with a notice stating that it was unavailable due to a violation of Twitch’s community guidelines. The ban was imposed after a viral clip of an IRL livestream showed XtraEmily driving while making a left turn. During this time, instead of keeping her eyes on the road, she was seen looking at her phone. As another vehicle came from the opposite direction, the driver honked his horn, thereby averting a serious accident.Right after the incident Emily admitted that it was her fault.“Oh, sorry! My bad! That was my bad. I have to check myself…oops!” she said during the livestream. He also thanked the other driver for blowing his horn and said it helped prevent a worse situation. There was no collision and no damage to any vehicle.

Viral driving clip brings back criticism over streaming behind the wheel

Later in the stream, ExtraEmily explained that she had been using her Tesla’s autopilot on the earlier drive but had turned it off shortly before the incident. She said she usually drives with autopilot enabled and they were almost at their destination when the close call occurred.Twitch’s community guidelines clearly state that dangerous or distracted driving is not allowed while interacting with a livestream. The rules say reading chat messages while driving or using a streaming device in a way that takes a person’s eyes off the road or hands off the car is prohibited. The latest suspension reminded many viewers of a similar incident involving ExtraEmily in April 2025. At that time, he received another one-day Twitch suspension after a livestream showed him running a red light while looking at his phone. Following the latest incident, some streamers and viewers once again called on Twitch to implement even stricter rules against livestreaming while driving.ExtraEmily’s account is now back online, but the incident has continued to spark discussion about road safety and whether creators should livestream while driving. Although the suspension has ended, the conversation about distracted driving on livestreams is not likely to end any time soon.
