Introduction and unboxing
It is Xiaomi’s Watch S4 and is one of the most adaptable smartwatches you can get now. It comes in a single 47 mm edition and in three cases colors – silver, gray and black, but its case can be converted on fly, allowing you to be practically endless options.
We have a rainbow model, which is lighter than black color. It comes with a unique black bezel with colored accents and a fluororubber strap with multi-colored stitch. The clock is € 170 at the time of this article.
Inside the retail box is the watch, its strap and 2-pin magnetic charger. Charger uses USB -A Plug, which is disappointing in 2025. This is a bit to attach the charger properly – rival watches like Samsung’s Galaxy Watch and Huawei’s watch also uses an ownership charger, but it is magnetic – just plop the clock on top and forget about it.

We also have additional dual-tone ceramic bezel and strap kit, which oversees the appearance of the clock. The clock is also clever about swelling the bezels – now there is a warning when you remove the bezel – the clock continuously vibrates until you keep Bezel back on the clock. A welcome change, given how easy it was to pop the bezel on the clock S3 by mistake and lose it.
The case has a serious style mechanism, where the bezel is closed in place.

Design and construction quality
Even better, Xiaomi went with a standard 22 mm band size, opening the world of possibilities for both third-party and Xiaomi straps. Who does not like?
There are hundreds, if not thousands, in 22 mm lug watch straps in Amazon, Aliexpress, and like, real leather, fake leather, rubber, ballistic nylon and more. But there are already third party bezels for the Watch S4, so you can adapt it to your heart content!
Xiaomi Watch S4 has a classic look. The bezel sits prominently on the goal case and the screen spreads a few mm above the glass cover, protecting it from scratches.
The case is made of an aluminum alloy, while Xiaomi does not specify anything about glass, but we will guess that it has some level of scratch resistance.
While some watches use a more hardy and premium stainless steel for the exterior, Xiaomi Watch allows aluminum used in S4 for light package of just 44.5g. In comparison, the OnePlus Watch is 3 49.7g, while the Galaxy Watch 6 is classic 59G.
The screen is a major improvement on its predecessor. It is a 1.43-inch 466x4666px 60Hz unit that has brought old 600 knots to 2,200 nits. This is a noticeable collision – this panel will leave you for nothing, even in the most bright situations.
There is always a screen mode that corresponds to each individual clock face.
The Xiaomi Watch has two controls on the right side of the S4 – a new rotating crown, doubled as a push, and there is another button below it that sits more flush with the case.
The rotating crown adds a welcome layer of control to the smartwatch. It is accurate, and has a beautiful vibration reaction.
Control
The heart rate and blood oxygen combo sensor sits at the bottom of the clock (it illumates in green and red). This is also the place where two pin sit for magnetic charger.
1.43 -inch 466x466px amoled display, again, luxurious – crisp and bright. But this is Xiaomi’s attempt to create a sophisticated clock face which makes it even better. There are nine inherent faces, all high -quality, all are numerous of adaptable widgets for all different data – battery life, phase, week’s day, etc.
Our only slight grip is that all the clock faces are black – the AMOLED battery is great, of course – but we will also like some light faces. You can find a lot of extra clock face in the Mi fitness app, so it’s all good.
Xiaomi Watch S4 is unique that it is a big watch on 47 mm, but also light. This is for unique users who like them big but light! The Watch S4 fully lends a fitness or the duty of a sleep tracker.
On the other hand, people who prefer a little part for their watch will not be the biggest fan of this one.
Xiaomi equipped the Watch S4 with its Hyperos 2 with a spontaneous device connection with Xiaomi’s smart hub. A push on the crown takes you to your apps grid, back another on the main watch screen. A swipe from the top brings up information, a swipe brings different widgets you set at the bottom – Activity tab, your heart rate, weather, etc. Once you scroll through your widget, you reach the app grid.
Notifications are basic. You find a stream of floating messages that you can tap to look completely and then reject. You cannot answer from the watch, and the messenger is not supported, so you get a strange symbol.
The unique about Xiaomi Watch S4 is that when you swipe left and right on the main screen, nothing happens (well, a swipe left gives you a way to change the watch face) – Most other smartwatchs have a horizontally sculptable interface, Xiaomi went with a vertical.
A push on the second button opens a quick togle.
There are also gestures. You can rotate or shake your wrist, or snap your fingers to achieve many adaptable actions – reject a call, take a photo (although you need to open a camera app on your phone, and also open a watch camera app on the watch), or open the Weather App. We tried them, but we cannot say that they work continuously.
It is a matter of regret that physical controls are not adaptable – the crown and the button below it is set in their methods for life!
Fitness and Sleep Tracking, Battery Life
Xiaomi Watch S4 has excellent sports and health tracking credentials, as you expect. To quote a one -pazer, you get more than 150 sports mode – including a personal running coach, and even a professional skiing mode (a rareness on several watches).
The Watch S4 supports dual-band GPS, which uses both comprehensive L1 and faster and more accurate L5 bands to provide tracking accuracy within meters. We achieved GPS lock in about 40 seconds, and MAP data was very accurate.
Fitness tracking
We are happy with fitness tracking on Xiaomi Watch S4. The workout screen is well placed in front of time and workout and with the intensity of the center. We will also say that heart rate tracking was in line with other brand fitness trackers.
This reviewer has never been a fan of Xiaomi Watch’s oversal sleep tracking data. I do not get more than 50 minutes of deep sleep per night, as Samsung’s Galaxy watches and Galaxy Ring, Huawei’s GT and Fit Series have been installed for years of daily tracking – none of them have given me a deep sleep more than an hour per night. Xiaomi’s watches estimate that I get continuously Deep sleep over 2 hours per night,
Yes, it is true that out of the lab test, sleep tracking is mostly estimated, but more than 2 hours of deep sleep is the boners for the most worthy of individuals.
On one side, nightpic, Xiaomi’s sleep tracking is attractive, which gives you interesting matrix to compare your sleep for other users, to provide a sleeping animal and share tips on ways to improve your sleep.
Detailed sleep tracking
Xiaomi claims that you can get a 15 -day battery with “specific use” from a 486mAh battery on the Watch S4. This editor is a firm belief that a clock, digital or not, requires displaying time all the time, so I always used the Watch S4 with a display and notification, with one hour of daily workouts and sleep tracking at night. I got the most three days, but the clock almost died. There were a consistent results two days. If you close the AOD and stick to get up to wake up, you can squeeze more than Xiaomi Watch S4, if you do not use it for sleep tracking.
conclusion
You can get Xiaomi Watch S4 for below € 200 – a great value. Generally it is € 170, but it often misses up to 10% or 20% – we love a deal. Smartwatch is more expensive in the area around Watch S4 in terms of build quality and specs.
It simplifies – Xiaomi Watch S4 is a great watch with the top -tier specs at a great price. We have very little to make separate complaints from the 2-pin magnetic charger.
