Xiaomi Redmire Pad Pro review

Introduction

The Redmi Pad and Redmi Pad SE gained immense popularity – their big screens, metal bodies and, of course, attractive prices make them a great choice for watching multimedia on your couch. Now Xiaomi has expanded the Redmi tablet series with the Pad Pro, which features a more premium Dolby Vision display, improved performance and a bigger battery.

Xiaomi Redmire Pad Pro review

The new Redmi Pad Pro brings a 12.1″ 120Hz LCD of 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution with Dolby Vision certification. It features a powerful Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip, which should be a decent upgrade over the Snapdragon 680 and Helio G99 in the older Pad model.

The Redmi Pad Pro also has an 8MP camera on each side, four Dolby Atmos speakers, and a large 10,000mAh battery with 33W charging support, which means you won’t have to reach for that charger very often.

Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro specifications at a glance:

  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi 6; BT 5.2, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive; 3.5mm jack.

To further enhance its capabilities, Xiaomi sells official accessories including the Redmi Smart Pen, Redmi Pad Pro Cover and Redmi Pad Pro Keyboard Cover. In the list of omissions we can add the lack of cellular connectivity, NFC and fingerprint scanner, but we wouldn’t say that any of these are a big deal when it comes to a tablet.

Unboxing of Redmi Pad Pro

The Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro comes in a thin paper box, which contains the tablet and a USB-A-to-C cable. There is no charger and if you don’t have a 33W charger, you will have to buy one if you want to maximize the charging speed.
