Xiaomi is expected to launch its next Chlameshell foldable, Mix Flip 2, which may soon come to China. While the company has not officially confirmed the phone yet, a senior Xiaomi executive has recently left a major hint on Weibo. According to the post, Xiaomi President Lu Weibing interacted with users of the first generation Mix Flip, to understand what to do, what not done, and what could be improved in the next model. This strongly indicates the mixed flip 2 to be in the way-the launch is launched by the end of June with the Redmi K80 Ultra and a new gaming-centric Redmi Tablet.
A couple of famous tipsters, including Digital chat station And Smart pikachuIt has also claimed that Xiaomi will unveil the foldable later this month. Connecting speculation, the Mix Flip 2 was recently seen on China’s 3C certification site, which usually appears shortly before the launch.
Xiaomi Mix Flip 2: What is expected?
Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 has been tipped to come with some concrete upgradation. It may have a large 6.85-inch Ltpo OLED inner display with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Power to the phone can be Qualcomm’s top-end Snapdragon 8 elite chipset.
In terms of design, Leaks suggests that Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 will be slightly slightly and lighter than the first model, which already measures a smooth 7.6 mm when turned and weighed around 192 grams. Xiaomi can be targeted to make the new model even more pocket-friendly without compromising on battery life. The phone is asked to pack 5,100mAh battery with support for 67W wired and 50W wireless charging – a noticeable jump from 4,780mAh cell in the original.
On the camera front, Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is expected to sport a double 50-megapixel lens-primary and ultra-wide. Other features may include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IPX8 water resistance, NFC and an IR Blaster-all of them have depicted on the recent Xiaomi flagship.
All said, the launch of Mix Flip 2 can be placed in direct competition with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 7, which is expected to come in July as well. While Samsung has not confirmed anything yet, Leaks suggests that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will have a similar design for the Galaxy Z Flip 6, but a slightly larger 6.85-inch main display and a 4-inch cover screen can offer. This is rumored to be operated by Exynos 2500 chip, so it will be interesting to see how it compares Mix Flip 2 in terms of performance. On paper, both foldables should be quite close.
Samsung is also allegedly working on a low -visible crease on the folding display of better battery life and Galaxy Z Flip 7, but no major camera hardware can be upgraded on Galaxy Z Flip 6. The expected setup includes a 50-megapixel main camera, 12-megapixel ultra-wide and 10-megapixel selfie shooter.
If these rumors are accurate, Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 can give Samsung’s foldable a real run for their money – at least in markets where both are available. While Xiaomi is expected to first launch the Mix Flip 2 in China, a global launch can be followed in July, making it the company’s only foldable phone for 2025.
For those who do not know, Xiaomi launched the first generation Mix Flip in China last year with mix fold 4. However, Mix Flip was not launched in India, so is the second-Je version it is seen here.
