It is crazy that we are talking about this quickly the Xiaomi 16 series, but it is just how things go on in the Internet era. After the recently leaked render of Xiaomi 16, now new details about the glasses and features of the phone have been revealed. If you are unaware, we are talking about a phone to succeed Xiaomi 15 – a tool that was launched in India only a few months ago. Even if we consider the original China launch of Xiaomi 15, which took place in October last year, and this year Xiaomi for 16 series clings to a similar timeline – we are still discussing the details of a phone that is still discussing at least five months away from becoming official.

According to the Digital Chat Station on Weibo, Xiaomi 16 will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 Chip-the spiritual successor of the present-Gi 8 elite processor. This is not surprising, considering the Xiaomi 15 runs on the 8 elite class, so it is only logical that the next model will move to the next-round version. Qualcomm is expected to unveil Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 at the company’s Snapdragon summit, which is scheduled to take place between 23 and 25 September. Said that Ziaomi has also recently introduced its own in-house chip-axoring 01-which currently strengthens 15 K and pad 7 ultra. So, the possibility of Xiaomi 16 cannot be rejected by using the company’s own chip. Again, it is purely speculative, and in reality, Xiaomi 16 will most likely continue with Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset.

Another interesting detail is a rumor battery capacity. Reports suggest that Xiaomi 16 can pack a battery of more than 6,500mAh. The initial leaks also indicate the possibility of a 7,000mAH unit under the hood. After the trend in the industry, it will probably be a silicone carbon battery – something that we have started adopting more brands for better energy density and efficiency.

In the camera department, Xiaomi 16 is expected to setup triple rear camera setup. This includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor (allegedly 1/1.3-inch size), 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and 50-megapixel telephoto camera with macro functionality. The display is also called the same as one on Xiaomi 15 -6.32 inch panel, which is amoled with 12-bit color support and an adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rate.

As mentioned earlier, if Xiaomi sticks to its normal launch cycle, we can expect to start Xiaomi 16, 16 Pro and 16 Ultra in China after some time in October. As an Indian launch, it is safe to assume that we are coming around the Xiaomi 16 series around March 2026. For reference, Xiaomi 15 was launched in India this last March and is currently available in a single 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variants, priced at Rs 64,999.
