In a disturbing incident in Nawabshah, a mother murdered her two children by slitting their throats. The tragic incident took place under the jurisdiction of the airport police station, ARY News reported on Thursday.
The mother named Komal Shaikh was taken into custody. According to ARY News, during preliminary interrogation, the mother confessed to the crime and admitted that she had killed her children with a knife in separate rooms.
After receiving information about the incident, police and rescue teams reached the spot. ARY News reported that the bodies of the children were taken to the hospital for post-mortem.
Police have recovered the murder weapon and are investigating further in the case.
A similar incident took place in August, when a mother in Karak, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killed herself after killing her two minor children. According to ARY News report, the incident took place in Mona Khel area, where a woman named Moona shot her two children due to a domestic dispute and later committed suicide.
Police said that the deceased children have been identified as 2-year-old Zain and 4-year-old Rabia.
Earlier on November 15, in a disturbing incident, a seven-month pregnant woman was murdered by her mother-in-law and sister-in-law in Kotli Marlan village of Daska, Punjab, Pakistan, ARY News reported.
A police officer told ARY News that mother-in-law Sughra Bibi, along with her daughter Yasmeen, murdered Zahra (26) and cut the body into pieces, packed it in a bag and threw it in the canal.
ARY News reported that the victim’s mother-in-law, to avoid detection and spread rumors that Zahra had eloped with someone, cut off her hands and legs and decapitated the woman.
Zahara, a resident of Kot Mand village of Gurjanwala, was married to Qadir of Kotli Marlan in 2020. Police have not yet been able to contact Qadir, who works abroad. According to ARY News, Daska police have registered a case of murder and other charges.
Sughra Bibi, Yasmin and grandson Abdullah were arrested and are in Daska police custody, ARY News reported.
