Tamil director Mari Selvaraj, known for films like ‘Pariyerum Perumal’, ‘Karnan’ and ‘Mamanan’, hinted at a possible collaboration with superstar Rajinikanth. The director’s upcoming film ‘Vaajhai’ was screened to critics in Chennai on August 21. After the show, the filmmaker interacted with the media and opened up about his desire to direct Rajinikanth. He also revealed that they are in talks for a film.

In ‘Vaazhai’, which is set to release on August 23, the protagonist Sivanandan (played by Ponvel) is a Rajinikanth fan while his friend Sekar (played by Raghul) is a Kamal Haasan fan.

Talking about work, Rajinikanth has completed the shooting and dubbing of ‘Vettaiyan’ directed by TJ Gnanavel. The film is currently in the post-production stage and will hit the theatres on October 10. As of now, the shooting of Rajinikanth’s film ‘Vettaiyan’ has been completed. ‘Vettaiyaan’ and Surya’s ‘Kanguva’ to clash This will be confirmed on October 10.

After ‘Vettaiyan’, Rajinikanth will be seen in director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Coolie’. The shooting of the film is currently going on in full swing. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film will be released in theaters in 2025.

After ‘Vaazhai’, Mari Selvaraj will work on Dhruv Vikram’s ‘Bison’. Speaking at the press conference, the director said, “70 per cent of the shooting is complete. We have put ‘Bison’ on hold due to the release of ‘Vaazhai’. We still have 20-25 days of shooting left.”

‘Bison’ will be released in 2025.
