Prince Harry is allegedly planning to convert his family’s name into a Spencer. The title was used by Princess Diana as her surname. The Duke of Sussex has allegedly discussed this with his uncle and the former Princess of Charles, brother of Wales.
According to Daily Mail reports, Harry taking the last name of her mother would mean abandoning the title Mountbatten-Windsor, which has been used by the British royal family for age.
Prince Harry Nearly five years after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the suggestion of changing his last name came out of Buckingham Palace. In addition, the former royal member has also closed the horns with the Prince of Wales and the Emperor.
For his chat with Charles Spencer, Prince Harry met his uncle in his country during one of his rare trips. However, the Spencer asked Duke not to take such a step, as it would invite new legal challenges.
Prince Harry’s advice to Charles Spencer
Talking about Prince Harry’s conversation with his uncle Charles, a friend of Duke revealed to the media portal, “He had a very cordial conversation and the Spencer advised him to take such steps.”
Meanwhile, Harry himself used Wales as his last name, as both his parents were known as the prince and princess of Wales. For his children, both Archie and Lilibett added Mountbatten-Windsor to their name.
Earlier opening about the name of his Sussex family, Meghan Markle shared with Peepal magazine that he did not realize the deep meaning associated with the name unless he had children.
Duchess explained, “This is our shared name as a family, and I think I did not recognize how meaningful it would be for me until we had children.” He added, “I love something that is something that Archie, Lily, H, and I all are together. It matters a lot to me.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle married each other in 2018 and left the royal family after the birth of their son in 2020.
