Purab Kohli opens up about Rock On 3

Inspired by the South Korean film A Happy Life, Rock On featured Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Shahana Goswami, Prachi Desai, Purab Kohli and others. Its sequel Rock On 2 was released eight years later.

Now, Kohli, who played Kedar Javeri aka Killer Drummer in the previous two instalments of the film, spoke about the third part of the musical drama film. During an interview with News18 Shosha, the Airlift actor was asked if there are any chances of Rock On 3.

Reacting to this, the actor said, “It’s a great franchise. I keep asking Farhan (Akhtar) if it will come back for a third part. But there has been no discussion about it as of now.”

Purab Kohli was heartbroken after Rock On 2 flopped

The first part of the franchise was a hit, but the sequel did not make much of an impact at the box office. This made Purab wonder which direction his career was headed in. Talking about that phase, the Bob Biswas actor said that he got a big hit in 2013 after his film Jal did not do well.

This is because he did not do any other work for a year or two before this film and put all his energy into this film. Since he had high expectations from this film, Kohli was heartbroken when this film did not get made. Rock On 2 was being made at the same time.

This film gave Purab hope, he thought it would take him forward and get him back on track. But when that film too failed to make an impact, he started thinking, “Oh God, what do I do now?”

Purab Kohli recently shared the screen in the TV series 36 Days with Neha Sharma, Sharib Hashmi, Amruta Khanvilkar, Shruti Seth, Sushant Divgikar and others.
