Dhanush has once again fueled speculations about a possible political entry after urging his fans to channel their unity into public service. Addressing a gathering at a recent event, the actor encouraged his supporters to go beyond film festivals and get actively involved in welfare activities within their communities.

Taking the stage at the event, the actor said, “So many people have gathered at one place. There is great strength in that kind of unity. We need to give that unity a purpose. Beyond just audio launches and meetups, we need to get involved in more welfare activities. People in your area, families living around your house. Do whatever you can to help them. I need to feel even more proud of you. I am sure you will do that.”

As soon as the video went viral, fans speculated that Dhanush was going to enter politics after Thalapathy Vijay. One Tamil Nadu needs educated, disciplined and courageous voices, not just power-chasing actors. A third user chimed in and wrote, “Looks like we can expect Dhanush to launch his new party sooner than expected.”

On National Award controversy

During the same event, he also addressed the criticism surrounding his National Film Award win, admitting that there were “definitely better” Tamil films in 2024 than his directorial debut Rayan. Also, he urged critics and audiences to celebrate the great achievement of a Tamil actor bagging two National Awards in the same year.
