Actress Karisma Kapoor recently recalled playing Nisha, one of the most memorable roles of her career. my heart is crazy. The actor revealed that many female actors were reluctant to play the role as it meant dancing and competing with Madhuri Dixit on screen.

“When my heart is crazy When it was being made, no actress wanted to play the role opposite Madhuri. No one wanted to dance with her or compete with her in dance competitions,” she recalled.

Lolo, as she is fondly called, revealed that Nisha’s journey broke many stereotypes of Bollywood.

He said, “I think cinema changed with the character of Nisha. She was a heroine, but not a traditional one. She was someone with whom the hero was not in love. He was rejecting her, and the audience could really see her pain.”

For Karishma, it was that emotional vulnerability that made the character so memorable and even today she gets goosebumps thinking about her character.

“I found that very different and very challenging. Even today, I get goosebumps thinking about it because normally the hero is supposed to love the heroine. Here was a girl thinking, ‘Why is this happening to me? I love this guy so much.’ That emotional journey was very special,” he shared.

In her career spanning over three decades, Karishma said she never approached her profession with a rigid plan. Instead, she prefers to move at her own pace and embrace both the busy stages of life and the quieter times.

She said, “I think it’s important for us to keep moving forward as artists. At the same time, I’ve always believed in my own lane and pace. Sometimes I don’t work for long hours, and sometimes I’m extremely busy. I enjoy those waves of life – the ups, downs, ups and downs.”

Currently seen in brownKarishma described this phase of her career as exciting and emphasized that she chooses projects based on intuition rather than strategy.

She said, “I don’t think too much about things and I definitely don’t take myself too seriously. That’s something that’s always stayed with me.”

The 51-year-old actor said that she has never been motivated by calculations regarding career progress or box-office success. “I’ve never been the kind of person who thinks, ‘My film is a blockbuster, what’s my next strategy?’ There was never any strategy. I’ve always tried to enjoy the moment and then focus on how I can better myself and what I can do next.”

The actor concluded the conversation by reminiscing about his journey of over 30 years in cinema. He expressed gratitude and thanked those who continue to support his work.
