The video shows Sinwar walking into an underground tunnel with his wife and children. Meanwhile, Sinwar’s wife’s bag attracted a lot of attention when Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Avichay Adrai said in a tweet that she was carrying a Birkin worth US$32,000 (approximately Rs 27 lakh).
“Although Gaza residents have no money for food, we see many examples of Yahya Sinwar and his wife’s special love for money,” Adrai tweeted in Arabic, including a photo of Sinwar’s wife. The Birkin bag was visible.

The Birkin bag came to life in 1984 after Hermès CEO Jean-Louis Dumas heard the late actress and singer Jane Birkin lamenting over the difficulty of finding a practical leather bag during a flight from Paris to London. The conversation led to Dumas creating a black, supple leather bag for her, later known as the Birkin bag – a roomy creation that looked elegant but could fit everything she needed.
Over the years, the Birkin became the ultimate symbol of wealth and exclusivity. It didn’t immediately gain popularity or immediately achieve the status of ‘hardest to buy’ bag. In fact, the Birkin didn’t become an ‘it bag’ until the 1990s.
