Rick Hurst, known for his role in the Duke of Hazard, has died at the age of 79. The unfortunate news was announced on the actor’s Instagram account, where his team shared a picture and paid a special tribute to the star.

The statement fell on social media, “For fans, he was more than a character-that was the family. His gentle smile, the errorless comedy time, and the kind soul made every scene bright.”

It further said, “Offscreen, Rick was known for his generosity, humility, and love to join fans in events across the country. Whether it was a renovation special or a meeting-greege in the coatar, he never stopped sharing his happiness with those who loved him.”
