Latonya Pottain, who became famous after his cameo in season 11 of TLC’s My 600-Lb Life, died at the age of 40. Television personality died in Louisiana on Saturday evening.
According to TMZ, Potain died due to natural reasons at the Christus Highland Medical Center at Shrewport, Los Angeles. Officials verified Potain’s death and said that a preliminary body examination blamed the cause of his death for heart failure.
According to family members, her brother, during the day, she visited the house at home and saw that she was ill and was having trouble breathing. He allegedly complained of a major crisis.
The same evening, a nurse called the family, saying that Potain had requested emergency medical aid after experienced cardiac arrest. He was then rushed to the hospital, where he died.
Potain gained national prominence through my 600 LB Life Season 11, a reality television show that features cases of extreme weight loss, presented in the documentary style. Each program has a one -year struggle to lose weight by a patient, usually with a doctor’s monitoring.
My 600-LB life, which was first premiered on TLC in 2012, revolutionize the existence of 600-pounds or heavy patients because they move towards a better future. Many participants undergo surgery if they prove to be successful in initial weight loss programs.
While staying on the series, Potain faced many health and lifestyle issues in his dialect to shed the pound. However, she could not lose weight during her time on the show, causing the surgeon to tell her that she could no longer provide medical care.
Latoni Potain, who was previously hospitalized for heart issues, died on May 17, 2025.
