Tennis star Venus Williams has confirmed his engagement with Italian actor Andrea Priti after months of speculation. The news came after his major victory at DC Open on Tuesday, marked his return to professional tennis after the break since March 2024.
Williams shared the news during a post-match interview, defeating Paytan Sterns 6-3, 6-4, became the second oldest woman in history to win a tour-level singles match.

The 7 -time Grand Slam Champion, while talking with commentator Rene Stubs, revealed her engagement. During the interview reported by the New York Post, Stabs said, “Now you are an engagement woman.” “So, how did Andrea help you in this return? You are happy, there is a smile on your face. I mean how much he has changed your life?”
Venus Williams replied, “My fiancée is here and he really encouraged me to keep playing. Many times I just wanted to do just the coast and kind of chill. Do you know how difficult it is to play tennis? You do not know how much work is there, like you are 9 to 5 other than running the whole time.”
He said, “Love lifting and dying and then you repeat it the next day. So they encouraged me to get it through it and it is amazing to stay here. They never saw me.”
When did Venus Williams and Andrea Priti start dating?
Williams and Andrea Priti were first seen together in July 2024 during a boating journey in Nerano, Italy. In February 2025, rumors of engagement began to roam when Williams was seen wearing a diamond ring. Preeti is known for roles in films like Temption (2023) and My Dowed Dushman (2018). He also acted in Series A Professor.
In previous interviews, Williams spoke openly about enjoying his single life. “I have a lot of friends who do not believe me when I say I like my life and I don’t want to change it for any reason,” he told Cosmopolitan in 2021. “I am not desperate and they don’t believe in me.”
