Rajinikanth is the highest paid South actor and the second highest paid Indian actor after Shah Rukh Khan. Despite all the success, he is the most humble personality and his down to earth nature sets him apart from others.

The veteran actor’s simple nature came to the fore once again when Aruna Guhan shared an interesting anecdote about Rajinikanth refusing VIP treatment and going to meet producer AVM Saravanan on a scooter. Read more about it below.

When Rajinikanth went to meet the producer on a scooter

Rajinikanth’s film Murattu Kaalai played a vital role in taking the actor’s career to new heights. Directed by SP Muthuraman, the film established Rajinikanth as an action hero and superstar.

While the actor’s humility and temperament have always been in the news, VM Studios’ Creative Producer Aruna Guhan shared an anecdote from the making of Murattu Kaalai.

This incident tells a lot about the down to earth nature and simplicity of the Padayappa actor. On her X page, Aruna spoke about this incident that happened in the early 80s.

He wrote, “After the release of Punnami Naagu, my grandfather Sri M. Saravanan sent one of our production managers to fix a meeting with Rajini sir regarding his availability, to which Rajini sir said, “Saravanan sir need not come to meet me. I will come myself.”

Aruna further added that the manager insisted that he would go back to the studio and send a car to pick up the actor as it was raining. However, Rajinikanth stuck to his decision to go on his scooter.

What’s next for Rajinikanth?

Rajinikanth will next be seen in a TJ Gnanavel directorial. The upcoming film Vettaiyan will release in October this year. Apart from the Jailor actor, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier and many others in pivotal roles.

Vettaiyaan brings together veteran actors Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan after 33 years. According to reports, the film revolves around a retired police officer who is trying to unravel a dark mystery surrounding him.

Apart from this, Rajinikanth also has Coolie alongside actors Sathyaraj and Shruti Haasan, which marks his first collaboration with director Lokesh Kanagaraj.

The film, which is slated to be launched in September 2023, reportedly stars Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role and has music by Anirudh Ravichander. The release date has not been announced yet. Coolie will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam.
