Madhuri Dixit, considered one of the most accomplished actresses of her generation, has spoken about the criticism she faced regarding her appearance at the beginning of her career in the mid-1980s. In a recent interview, Dixit spoke about how these comments affected her and what role her family, especially her mother, played in helping her deal with such challenges.

In conversation with Nayandeep Rakshit, Dixit recalled the unwanted comments made about her looks before her success in cinema. She said, “When I was just starting out, a lot of people used to tell me – do this, what’s your nose like, your this, your that. I used to go and say, ‘Mom, they are saying this.’ And my mom would say, ‘Don’t worry about it. Once you have a successful film, that’s the thing they will love about you.”
